As you all know, UEVP is launching the first edition of the Buiatrics Summer School, a one-of-a-kind opportunity for young veterinarians to deepen their expertise in dairy practice. Hosted in Brescia, this intensive 7-day programme (5–12 July 2026) offers a full immersion into modern dairy farming systems. From transition cow management and udder health to calf consultancy and milking routines, the course combines theory, farm visits and practical insights into herd health, management and production.

Free for selected candidates
The summer school is designed as a hands-on learning experience, giving participants direct exposure to real-life dairy systems. With only twelve places available, selected veterinarians will benefit from close interaction with experts and peers from across Europe. Participation costs – including accommodation, meals, training, and organised activities – are fully covered by the organisers. Participants only need to arrange their travel to and from Brescia.

‘This is more than just a training course,’ enthuses Giovanni Guadagnini, Italian veterinary practitioner, and board member of the UEVP. ‘It’s a chance to become part of a European network, get to know like-minded colleagues across Europe, and gain practical skills that can immediately enhance your daily work in dairy practice.’
Who can apply?
The programme is aimed at young European veterinarians (born in or after 1990) who:
* Are actively working in cattle practice
* Are from a UEVP-member country (find out here if this is the case)
* Are comfortable working in English
